Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
1. The service
RAVE//MODE provides streaming tools (video ingest, channel pages, chat, a virtual collectibles economy, and light-rig software) that streamers and viewers use directly with each other. RaveMode.tv is operated by Hammer Forge Apps LLC — between you and us, "we" always means that company. We host the tools; we don't select, curate, or endorse any streamer's content, and the directory is sorted mechanically (by liveness and crowd size), never editorially.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm you are 13 or older. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly accept accounts from them — if we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete the account and its data. (See the privacy policy for how little that data is.)
- You borrow the account; you don't own it. Accounts are free. We own the service and everything that makes it work. When you register, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use an account, a handle, and the features behind them. That license — not the account itself — is what you hold. We can suspend, close, or reclaim accounts and handles (including inactive ones) per §8.
- One account per person. You're responsible for your credentials and for everything done through your account — keep your password private and enable two-factor if you stream. One channel per account for now.
- Accurate info. Give us a working email you control; it's how verification, resets, and payout notices reach you.
3. Virtual items & the rave economy
Watching earns Rave Packs of collectibles (kandi, trinkets, candy, perler, art). Here's the deal, the same one every video game gives you:
- Items are licensed, never sold. You get a personal, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the items in your inventory inside the service. You have no ownership, property, or monetary interest in any item, pack, badge, or collection — no matter how rare it is or how long you ground for it.
- Items have no cash value. They cannot be bought from us with money, sold to anyone, traded for money or anything of value outside the service, or cashed out. Ever.
- Items only move through us. Trading and gifting use the built-in systems and move items between accounts — that's the only sanctioned transfer. Selling or buying items for real money (or crypto, gift cards, anything of value) off-platform is prohibited, voids the trade, and can cost you the items and the account.
- We can change the economy. We may add, modify, re-balance, retire, or discontinue items, drop rates, or the entire economy at any time (for gameplay, legal, or technical reasons). If the service shuts down, items are forfeited without compensation — they were never property, so there's nothing to compensate.
- Rave credits are a different thing. Credits are a real-money purchase (see /pass) that pays for one-use stream effects — a payment for a service, not loot: no randomness, nothing to collect, nothing tradeable. Spent credits are non-refundable once the effect fires (see the refund policy).
- Artist rewards are promotional credits. When community pixel art is minted into the economy (Pixel Studio rules on /legal/rules), the artist receives a one-time credit bonus by rarity (200–1,000 ◆). These are a platform-funded promotion, not compensation for the art or a wage: the license you grant by submitting is separate (House Rules, "Pixel Studio"), and reward credits carry the same non-refundable, non-tradeable status as any other credits.
4. Streamer rights warranty
When you create a channel, you affirm and warrant that:
- you hold all performance rights necessary for the content you stream, including both the musical compositions and the sound recordings, or you limit your stream to content you have the right to perform (for example, your own original productions);
- a venue's or PRO's live-music license does not by itself authorize streaming that venue's audio or video over the internet;
- you will comply with our Copyright & DMCA policy, including its repeat-infringer termination rules.
5. Tips & payouts: how the money works
Tips are voluntary gifts from viewers to streamers. The mechanics, disclosed in full:
- The platform fee is $0. We deduct nothing from tips as platform revenue.
- Payment processing is passed through. Card processing (currently ~2.9% + 30¢) plus the connected-account fee on destination transfers (currently ~0.25% + 25¢) are deducted from the tip before it reaches the streamer. The platform nets exactly zero. The tipping UI shows the estimated amount the streamer receives before you pay.
- Payout fees are the streamer's. When a streamer withdraws their balance ("pay me"), the payout fee (currently ~0.25% + 25¢ per payout) is charged by the payment processor. Payouts go to the streamer's own connected account, never through us.
- Until a streamer connects payouts, tips to their channel land in the platform account and are settled to them manually.
6. VIP Pass
The VIP Pass is a $10/month viewer membership (billed through Stripe): a ◆ chat badge, a bonus Rave Pack every rave day (un-collected packs bank up to three; the counter resets at 5:00 AM US Central), one included $5/month premium sub you may point at any creator and move at any time, and 10% off any additional premium subs. The included or discounted sub pays the creator you choose, the same way a tip does; the membership itself is a platform subscription for site-wide features; it is not payment for any particular streamer's content.
- It renews automatically. The Pass is an auto-renewing monthly subscription: your payment method is charged $10 each month until you cancel. Cancel anytime in the billing portal (from /pass); cancellation stops future charges immediately and keeps drops you have already banked. Your payment is also governed by Stripe's terms.
- Perks have no cash value. The badge, bonus packs, and everything the Pass grants are licensed perks under §3, not property — they can't be sold, transferred, or refunded as value, and perks may evolve as the service does.
- The included sub needs a target. It only pays out when you point it at a creator; you can move it whenever you like. Price excludes any applicable taxes. Refunds only where required by law — see the refund & cancellation policy.
7. Conduct & house rules
The house rules are part of these terms — read them before you stream or chat. The load-bearing clauses:
- Rate your stream honestly. Every stream is labeled all-ages or 18+. Mark it 18+ if it will have mature language or explicit music — that's all the label covers. Mislabeling is a conduct violation and costs strikes under §8.
- Some things are banned everywhere. Drinking or showing alcohol on stream, cannabis or any illegal drug use, nudity or sexual content, and anything illegal are not allowed on any stream — 18+ is not a pass for any of them.
- Chat is moderated. No harassment, hate, doxxing, or illegal content. Moderators may delete messages, mute, or ban.
- The economy has no cash value. Items cannot be bought from us with money, sold, or cashed out. Trades and gifts move items between accounts only.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for conduct violations, and we terminate repeat copyright infringers per the DMCA policy (2 strikes → stream key revoked, 3 strikes → account terminated). On termination your license to the account and everything in it ends; items are forfeited per §3. You may stop using the service at any time; ask us to delete your account and we will.
9. Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our aggregate liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months (for most of you: $0). If any clause is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
